2003 Men's Retreat

Worship with the men's band and praise team is a central part of the SPC men's retreats.

A hundred men came together at a small ranch retreat in a small Maryland town ... Our purpose was not to get away from our wives and families, nor was it to get away from our church or our jobs. Rather, we went with the expectation of having GOD meet us in a place that was void of those things that daily cluttered our lives - that seemed to steal our personal time with GOD!

We fought traffic, less-than-caring bosses, and last minute challenges at home to get to our spiritual mountaintop. We came with apprehensions, personal struggles and broken hearts - and just as HE met Moses on Mount Horeb, GOD met us at River Valley Ranch!

Outdoor activities included an initiatives course and trail riding.

HIS spirit filled "our sanctuaries" and broke down our machismo! We realized we were on "holy ground" and we obeyed the Holy Spirit's direction to cast off our "shoes" - in other words, all those things that stood in the way of US receiving an outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

We came away from that small ranch retreat knowing without a doubt that we didn't leave there the same way we had arrived! Praise GOD!!!

There was even time for an occasional nap!
